Borth audio walking tour

Borth remains a mystery. The legend of Cantref y Gwaelod may be true, and Borth is a remnant of Wales’ Atlantis.

This curious place has no record of when it was founded nor the usual cues around why a village developed here!

But, Borth and its rugged seascapes inspired an entrepreneur, Thomas Savin, to invent package holidays bringing crowds of holidaymakers here in the 1800s.

Fast forward to the 2010s, and Borth was still a hub of trying new ideas with its own privately run zoo. The zoo had many different creatures calling it home. But, in 2018, one creature – an 18-month-old lynx, sought to break its conservatorship and escaped!

Our audio walking tour of Borth takes in 6 landmarks with over 30 minutes of audio. Walking between all the landmarks is 1.7 miles. The tour – audio and walking – will take at least an hour to complete.

Please be aware when crossing the rail lines, roads, and along the coast path.
